Goodbye Victor

I am saddened to report, that another old timer has left this world, and has walked over the Rainbow Bridge to join the other dogs from the Dog Palace. Of course I was not there to witness the funeral, but I have been told about it and Victors last days.

He was the companion hunting to dog to Mavro, as I have mentioned before, but in their time at the Dog Palace they had to be kept apart, I am not sure dogs can hate, but dislike is better word to use perhaps! All the dogs used to give us a wonderful welcome when we arrived, as they heard the truck before they saw us of course. Victor’s place, was the first we got to before we went through the double entrance gate. He would be there barking furiously and spinning around like a top, I was amazed he never got dizzy. He loved his walks, but sometimes maybe his aching limbs curtailed these outings, but when he was in the mood he would just keep going. He was usually accompanied by Rita, whose nether regions he was always fascinated by. I think she was a bit young for him however. He had a strong desire to eat as quickly as he could, you did not have to wait long for his food to be consumed, I think he was like a powerful hoover. The saddest bit, about his passing, was I was told, in recent days, he looked really good, was walking well, and then he was gone. But he did not suffer, and if any sentient being leaves this world on those terms, that’s a comfort I think. The Dog Palace will be a poorer place with his passing. RIP Victor.
