One way

A friend of mine warned me the summer one way system is now in force in Livadi. The advent of more traffic and  regular buses means the pinch point near the cross roads would be even more untenable than it would be, if the one way was not in place. I have not seen any new signs but it’s good to be warned. I had a souvlaki dinner last night and managed again to navigate my way around it using my Greek.

This morning after my haircut and an early lunch in Grans had me head back up to Hora for a late coffee in the shop, where my haircut was a bit short for Marinos I think, I helped a US tourist order their coffee, and told them about the shop’s history and the photos of the previous owners. I showed Marinos the Marine watch app and that my friend was on the Speedrunner Jet and who they were ( he knows them) . I then helped them unload their cats and had yet another Freddo Capuchino which was nice, but three in one day?

After this, it was to the dentist for a filling, expertly done, no pain at all. I tried to say “see you in six months”, I was nearly right except I used the singular version for months, I also omitted the word for “in” but my dentist understood me. I then went back to Livadi, rang the Dog place owner for a Mavro status, he isn’t walking so well, not eating so much. I got myself an ice cream from Grans, I excused my pronunciation of “ice cream” because of my numb mouth.  The taverna by me opens tomorrow I would like to go that day, but I am off elsewhere. Tomorrow also I hand Mr Cactus over to my friend and have a coffee with them. They have a piano player staying in their little house as part of the islands cultural program. On Friday I am going with heaps of people to see a recording of one of his performances and for a meal first. Finally the old garage is now an industrial washing place so anyone can have bed linen etc washed there, which will be handy for the burgeoning air bnb places. Ironically it is not far from the original Wash house.
