Keeping Cool
I had a result last night on the Greek language help. Someone in my UK home village, speaks the language and is happy to help me. I will meet them when I return. Another idea, a neighbours daughter has a small swimming pool, maybe they would let me use it, offer some advice? I asked my neighbour and they will speak to their daughter. Double result. At the Coffee Shop, they were asking about Mavro, I said in Greek, he wasn’t eating and not drinking so much. I also said a grave had been dug, I walk past it several times a day. I did speak some other Greek to Marino, and used Google Translate for the rest!
The walks went very well today, they were hot, and most of the dogs took a sip out of the flask. Rita is keener on it more than the others. Hopefully with more use.. I was looking at the countryside and the Dog Palace and there are still flowers, some pretty yellow ones, that I find really attractive.
On the Aloni, Maloni, Rita and Chocca walk, they saw some goats and had to be persuaded to leave them away. Then we saw some lambs and again, it was good they were on leads, but Rita especially was not so happy as I tried to move her on. On the Scoopy walk, we went to the communication tower, as it’s high up and always windy, so was refreshing for him, being so hairy. On our way out, we met a visitor on foot, who knows the owner and might be providing a home for Scoopy on occasion, not permanently as they are not on the island, all year, like me.
After lunch and the brushing, the owner showed me the hand sprayer they use in the heat of summer. Rex being so hairy, is already super hot and loves the sprayer directed into his face.
Just before dinner time, I sat with Maloney, with Rita on the double bed. Aloni was asleep next to us, dreaming and his body was shaking all over until he woke himself up. When we start to prepare the food, Victor hears the food going into the metal bowls and starts barking enthusiastically. Buddy is eating well again and looking better.
Back home I saw Odin and his owner next door gardening. Odin’s owner is a gardener, next door to me is his uncle’s lovely garden. He also works in the reopened Sandwich Shop. Another Greek with multiple jobs.
