Back from the dead

It’s been an interesting few days, since I last posted. It’s made be realise many things about myself, which has been very positive. But a funny story, a friend was not well, so I stepped into assist, and this meant my usual daily visit to the Coffee Shop did not happen yesterday, and I heard from someone who was there that Marinos, said he always comes, maybe he is dead in his house! When I arrived today, he asked me what happened and I had a Google Translate answer ready at hand.

Here are some cat bedsits that I have made and I have seen them in use, they have roofs to protect from the sun and rain. Yesterday with friends in a group I make my first visit to the monastery, it’s really pretty with a church inside. I can’t post all the photos but I like this one best. It had a couple of hanging things, which are hit to summon the monks to pray, although there is only one monk in residence now.

After the monastery we went to the local wine place, which has been in the same family for a couple of generations, they don’t water the vines, or use chemicals. The winds keep them clear of problems. Years ago we were told all the terraces we see, were used and over four thousand island folk lived here. We had a wine tasting, looking out over to the vines and the sea, followed by a very late lunch by Platys Gialos, again memorable, listening to the sea crashing onto the beach. The wine place has a rescue dog, so friendly and always on guard. I think he was called Simba or something like that.
