Ten weeks left?

After getting back from the Coffee Shop this morning it tipped down. So I am so glad I got back before it did. I have one last coffee voucher, for tomorrow. I think the builder guys, buy a loaf of bread, and eat it through the day. One of them could not wait and ate it all at the shop. That’s a lot of bread. I asked one of them if it was going to rain and he said maybe, a little perhaps. Good forecast, it’s stopped now. On the TV there was an item about potatoes, they were interviewing a farmer. The word for potato is very like our own. On the window of the coffee shop is a timetable for the Easter celebrations. I have taken a photo of it. While I had my breakfast in the house, this double rainbow appeared. Unfortunately the ton bag, got in the way, it was still raining, I wasn’t going to go out and avoid the bag being in the shot.

Unbelievable. In ten weeks, and at the end of that week, I will be heading back to the island that started this Greek odyssey nearly two years ago. I went there to have a holiday and came back hungry for a new home. I then went to several islands of the Cyclades and the last, this one one grabbed me and decided not to let me go. Another three weeks here later on, sealed my fate and the rest they say is history. I returned here last September. Back on Sifnos, I will be looking after my friends dog, while they are in the UK, I then go there for two months, to do dog sitting, before returning here in September. I have decided to come back, for at least another year. I will buy a second large suitcase, to put the belongings I will leave here and find somewhere to store them both. I will then take a small suitcase to go to Sifnos then the UK with me.

I have been so lucky, with the people I have met and now call my friends. When I walked to Livadi on the Donkey track after my usual Coffee Shop visit, I met several of my friends. At each meeting, I had a chat, with one a coffee with two of their dogs. The final meeting was with the guy who delivers coffees on his motorbike from Grans, as I was heading to the reservoir.

  1. Once you bring a second suitcase to Greece, you will end up staying forever 😂
