Monday Lunch
When ordering my coffee earlier I told Marinos I had drunk his wine and it was very nice thank you. He held up a large bottle of it that he has in the Coffee Shop. I wonder what he charges per glass? I also gave him the second of those chocolate biscuits, wrapped in foil that I like. I looked up the word for surprise and told him it was one. At the dog palace the first walk went awry, as Moloney slipped his lead and ran off like a greyhound. I let Aloney guide us to his scent and he came up trumps. Soon enough we saw the escape artist in the distance on the side of the mountain. Anyway he came back to me. I told my friend, it’s not the first time it’s happened to him on his walks with them. On the last walk, we got down to the bottom of the track, and saw this church I have seen a long time ago. There was a lovely view of the coast and two of the dogs explored a ruined building from the safe distance of the entrance, including a rusting cast iron bed.
Back after a nice rest and brushing Buddy, the latest recruit, I was watching how he cowers as I bring the brush onto his back. We think he must have been hit like this. Who knows what with and how often? Will he ever trust us enough and stop doing this? I hope so.
