Good Times

Sometimes helping others is so good for the mind. It doesn’t have to involve dogs! Last night with a friend we met a lady who has befriended a three legged stray cat. We don’t know how it ended up loosing one left. It really needs a long term home, but for now it’s camped out in this persons house, who is going to Sifnos for two weeks. So my friend and me are going to visit it, as it can’t be let out and feed it and give it some company. While we were meeting this kind person  yesterday afternoon, one of the so called Souvlaki cats, in fact the boss man himself turned up, to so say hello and help himself to a bit of left over cat food in my plastic bag.

This morning, with my friend from above, we wanted to try and catch the cat, we narrowly missed out on getting, when the neutering team were on the island. I did my usual distract the rest of the cats, who were not very cooperative. They wanted to be in the cage and kept getting in the way of the cat we wanted to catch. The cat itself, it went in the cage, but by its nine lives or not, it just did not step on the trap plate that would end its campaign too procreate We don’t know wether  it’s a boy or girl. It was ridiculous, I could almost see my friend swear to themselves, as again and again, we just missed out on getting it. The neutering team are not in town, but the DMOS funded vet who comes here a couple a times a week was arriving today. We had one cat to get neutered so it wasn’t a lost effort. Next time we will get you, third time lucky! We had a coffee in Marinos and used up two of my free coffee tokens.

We went to the port, to await the boat and I had a nice breakfast with my friend and a catch up on news. When the vet arrived we handed over our furry friends and asked about Lucky the cat who we sent to Syros the other month. Lucky is doing well, the pelvis is ok, but the leg not, so Lucky will end up being three legged like the cat above. We are hoping Lucky can go in a cats home instead of being turned out on the streets.

After this, I went to see another friend, to look at a Chromecast problem. I think I saw something similar with my iPad and TV here, there seems plenty of traffic about it on the internet. I will investigate. After this I went to see an other friend, to help them in their garden, and some DIY projects. I had a nice late lunch there.

Finally the local rubbish dumpsters are getting full to overflowing with rubbish from people and businesses opening up their properties, painting and so on. There are a lot more people about, places open. The tourists are coming back, I should not complain, I was one once.
