From the frying pan to the fire

I start with a three legged cat. A kind lady is looking after it in Kato Hora but this is not a long term situation. Ideally we want to find a home for her. She is wonderfully affectionate and very agile, despite loosing the bottom bit of her leg. I don’t know how old she is. The only other three legged cat I have been involved with, was one I fed a couple of times and my efforts to make friends, despite going slowly slowly, resulted in it trying to paw my hand, so I left it alone from then on. On the sides of the tracks and paths are these huge dandelion clocks. You can see there are more to open soon, for us to see. Some are already been blown apart by the wind.

I bought two treats today, for us at the Dog Palace. The first I knew, are like a whole meal big bread stick covered in sunflower seeds. When I went to the Coffee Place I offered them around to the people inside. They are very nice indeed. The other ones, well they were like a yellow biscuit, covered in sesame seeds. My friend said they had honey in them. They were like eating cardboard. While we were brushing Buddy, we noticed a butterfly in his den. I caught it and released it, in the path of a huge spiders web! Luckily it managed to avoid it and flew away. It was a beautiful Scarlet Admiral. Here is Buddy.

On the first walk, we went down to the small vineyard, and near here I knew there was a path. It was there and looked quite easy. We went down a fair bit of it, but with dogs it was getting increasingly difficult, so we turned back. But with luck it goes to a church I have been trying to get to, Aghios Georgios. From here it’s possible another path might take me to Karavas Beach, not reachable by car. Here are the dogs on the path.

On the last walk, we finally got to Prophet Elias church, it had a very bent tree, and seems a bit lonely and exposed.

Accordingly to weather forecasts, it looks like we might be getting a lot of rain early next week. The reservoir needs topping up, the forecast started with thirty Millemetres, but now that has been cut that back to nineteen.  Let’s see. The old car garage is already being refurbished. It’s not clear what it will be but they are getting on with it, very quickly. I don’t think it’s a  new taverna, as more suitable empty buildings are up here, ready to be revitalised. Finally I am going to be offline for a few days, nothing untoward, I should be back on Wednesday.
