Another visit to the Wash House

Monday 3rd October afternoon - Hora

Ronnie loves to go out and as it wasn’t as hot as yesterday I thought we could do a shorter walk to the Wash House.  As soon as I put my sandals on, Ronnie is there looking at me, “am I coming?” Neh, which in Greek means yes.  We walked down the road and joined the path to the Wash House. We went into it and I turned a tap on and Ronnie had a drink.

After this Ronnie wanted to investigate the rock which slopes down in the ravine. There are numerous pools and we went further down than I had been before. Ronnie was looking for Lizards, there were Frogs, but he did not seem interested in them. He did have a munch on some of the grass.  At the bottom was this huge deep pool, but no way to get into it. We then walked back up. By one pool, it was quite big and just big enough for Ronnie to fit in.

It must have been lovely, he luxuriated in it, it’s good, as it’s fresh water not salty like the sea. We continued up the rocks and walked back into Hora. I decided to have a coffee at Marinos and we had a chat before I ordered my coffee. He was interested in why Ronnie was wet, google translate came to the rescue! A Greek couple came along, they live in Kallitsos, which I walked to the other day. In the winter they live in Paris! We had a joke about the bag I carry Ronnie’s bits in, it says Sifnos on it! Marinos said it should say Serifos! After the coffee we went to the shop for an ingredient for tonight’s meal, spaghetti carbonara. Markela the owner said you are cooking tonight? I told her what I was making. She does ask me questions, so there is interactions with the locals. I don’t feel like a tourist at all now. Ronnie is asleep on the sofa now, good job we put towels on it. We might  have a drink later on, as we are not going to Livadi tonight.
