My first guests soon to arrive!
Thursday 29th September - Hora and Livadi
So last night it was very windy and I went down to Vasileas bar for a drink. It felt very quiet in the village. Elena was there and I made two Origami models for the children she teaches to look at. children, The models were the so called flapping bird and the frog. They are really the only models I remember how to do, I used to do Origami when I was a young boy. The paper I had a was a bit thick and should ideally be proper origami paper which is coloured on one side. I should see if I can find a terrapin model! Some Spanish folks came in and Vasileas was able to talk to them in Spanish, which was good. There were a few locals dropping in and out. An American couple popped in, but soon everyone was gone and it was eerily quiet, save the wind. Vasileas did not even have his music on. I then decided to have a wander around Hora and take some photos. The phone has a torch which was handy as bits of Hora were dark.
I then decided to go to Livadi, as I was already on the mountain road, I went a bit further down and joined a track I found the other day that winds around and goes to Hora. But I was to only go on it as far as the church and graveyard and from there go to the reservoir and then to Livadi itself.
Just after the church I saw a cow wandering around, well I did see some the other day by the church.
A bit further on there was a small group of cows being herded by their owner in his little car. As he saw me, he said something, and he put his arms outside the car and pretended to hold a steering wheel? Maybe he thought I should get a car?
As I approached the reservoir itself I saw a runner coming behind me, I saw her the other day, I said Kalimera she had those pod things in her ear, so might not have heard me. When I got to Livadi, the beach was very quiet. A lot of places are taking their things off the beach, tourism is slowly retreating for another year.
There was just enough time to get a pie for lunch and a cold drink, before the bus came along. This afternoon I will get things ready for my guests. I have discovered that the single bed that I am sleeping on, actually has a pull out single bed, so parents with two children can put them in the second bedroom. The house has been setup well, in the bedrooms, the main light has a second on off switch by the bed headboard. There are loads of sockets too.
